
Kinet Railway Solutions — a joint venture between India’s Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Russia’s Transmashholding (TMH) — has unveiled a full-scale mock-up of the First AC coach for the upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper trains at the International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2025 in New Delhi.
A Glimpse into the Future of Indian Rail Travel
The newly designed coach showcases ergonomic four-berth compartments featuring:
- USB charging ports and individual reading lights
- Indian-inspired interiors blending comfort with cultural aesthetics
- Showers and specialized toilets for premium passenger convenience
- Capability to run at speeds up to 160 km/h
These innovations aim to elevate the long-distance travel experience while aligning with the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
Production Plan
The project targets the production of 200 Vande Bharat Sleeper trainsets, with Kinet Railway Solutions set to manufacture 120 units beginning June 2025. The remaining sets will be produced by Indian Railways’ manufacturing units.
