The first female officer have been posted in Siachen, the highest battleground in the world. Thus, Captain Shiva Chauhan of the Fire and Fury Sappers, received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.

In the first operational deployment of a female Army officer to the highest battleground in the world, Captain Shiva Chauhan of the Corps of Engineers has been sent to a frontline post at the Siachen glacier.

After undergoing extensive training, the officer was sent to the Kumar post in Siachen. It is situated at an elevation of around 15,600 feet. Captain was deployed on Monday for a three-month assignment, according to Army authorities.
