Reliance Industries Limited and Meta Platforms have announced a major joint venture to create Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL) — a new AI-focused company aimed at accelerating enterprise-grade artificial intelligence adoption across India. The venture represents one of the largest technology collaborations of 2025.

Joint Venture Structure and Investment

REIL will be jointly owned by Reliance (70%) and Meta’s subsidiary, Facebook Overseas, Inc. (30%), with a total investment of ₹855 crore. Reliance will contribute ₹2 crore towards the initial subscription of 20 million equity shares.
According to filings, the deal requires no government approvals and is not classified as a related-party transaction.

Enterprise AI Solutions for Businesses

The new company will deliver AI Platform-as-a-Service (AI PaaS) solutions, enabling businesses to develop and deploy customised generative AI models for sales, marketing, IT operations, finance, and customer service.
Meta will integrate its Llama open-source models, while Reliance will leverage its extensive reach across Indian enterprises and small businesses. The solutions will be available via cloud, on-premise, and hybrid setups.

Boosting India’s AI Capabilities

Industry experts say the partnership could play a transformative role in India’s AI ecosystem, combining Reliance’s digital infrastructure with Meta’s advanced AI research.
