China launches fastest internet service: Will be able to send 150 HD movies in one second

Chinese tech company Huawei Technologies has launched the world’s fastest internet service. The company claims that their network is capable of transmitting data at a speed of 1.2 terabit (TB) per second.

According to South China Morning Post, Huawei Technologies Vice President Wang Lei said that this network can transmit data equivalent to 150 high-definition (HD) movies in just one second. Apart from this, it can send all the global content of Netflix. It needs to be mentioned here that there is 1024GB in 1TB.

The company activated it for testing in July and has now launched it officially. The network has passed all operational tests. Tsinghua University, China Mobile, Huawei Technologies and Cernet Corporation have worked together for this success.

The company has launched the world’s first next generation fiber internet service. Its speed is said to be 10 times more than America and South Korea.

Spanning more than 3,000 kilometers of optical fiber cabling, the new backbone network transmits data at 1.2 terabits (1,200 gigabits) per second. The network connects Beijing in the north, Wuhan in central China and Guangzhou in the southern province of Guangdong.

Speed of 100 GB/S in most places in the world

Let us tell you that many industry experts had predicted the launch of 1 terabit per second ultra-high-speed network around 2025. Most of the world’s Internet backbone networks currently operate at 100 gigabits per second, with the US recently following suit.
