For one evening, music transcended performance and became a shared spiritual experience. Veteran playback singer and Padma Shri awardee Anuradha Paudwal transformed Jaipur’s Deep Smriti Auditorium into a sanctuary of devotion as thousands gathered to immerse themselves in an evening of Krishna bhajans organised by Gupt Vrindavan Dham.

As the celebrated singer began with the timeless Mahamantra-“Hare Krishna, Hare Rama”-the auditorium resonated with collective chants, folded hands and voices joining in unison. The atmosphere quickly evolved from that of a concert into a devotional celebration, with audiences swaying to the rhythm of bhakti and melody.

Widely regarded as the “Bhajan Queen,” Paudwal delivered a soulful repertoire of Krishna bhajans that reflected the spiritual depth and simplicity that have defined her musical journey for more than four decades. Her performance drew devotees, music lovers and families from across Jaipur, creating an evening where faith and music blended seamlessly.

With every bhajan, the singer rekindled timeless stories of Lord Krishna, evoking nostalgia, reverence and inner peace among the audience. The applause between performances was matched only by moments of silence, as listeners absorbed the devotional ambience that enveloped the venue.

Beyond the music, the evening also highlighted the vision behind Gupt Vrindavan Dham, a spiritual and cultural project currently under development.

Addressing the gathering, Amitasana Das, President of Gupt Vrindavan Dham, said the temple is being envisioned not merely as a place of worship but as a global centre for spiritual learning and cultural preservation. He said the project aims to promote Harinam Sankirtan, the distribution of prasadam, the study of Vedic wisdom, gau seva (cow protection), value-based education and the preservation of India’s spiritual heritage.

According to the organisers, the completed temple will welcome thousands of devotees daily, offering opportunities for darshan of Lord Krishna, devotional chanting, spiritual discourse and community service.

The evening concluded with devotees leaving the auditorium carrying more than memories of a musical performance. For many, it was an experience of collective devotion, one where Anuradha Paudwal’s timeless voice once again demonstrated the enduring power of bhajans to inspire faith, serenity and togetherness.
