If you ever visit India, I hope you come to Jaipur. I have lived here since I was a child, so for me, it’s not just a famous tourist city, it’s my home. Every street, every market, and every old building has been a part of my life. People know Jaipur as the Pink City because many of the buildings in the old part of the city are painted pink. But Jaipur is much more than its colour. It is a city where history and everyday life exist together.
When you visit places like Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, or the City Palace, you will see beautiful architecture and learn about the kings and queens who once lived here. These places are not just monuments for us. They remind us of our history and the people who built this city.
If you really want to understand Jaipur, don’t just visit the forts. Walk through the local markets. You will find handmade jewellery, colourful textiles, blue pottery, and traditional crafts. Many families have been doing this work for generations, and they are proud to share it with visitors.
The best time to experience Jaipur is during festivals. During Teej, Gangaur, Diwali, and the Kite Festival, the whole city becomes colourful and full of energy. Families celebrate together, people wear traditional clothes, and the streets are filled with music and happiness.
Of course, you cannot leave Jaipur without trying the food. I would recommend pyaaz kachori, dal baati churma, ghewar, and a glass of sweet lassi. These dishes are a big part of our culture, and we love serving them to our guests.
In India, we believe that “Atithi Devo Bhava,” which means “The guest is like God.” That is why we always try to make visitors feel welcome. If you come to Jaipur, you will not only see beautiful places but also meet kind people who are happy to share their culture and traditions.
For me, Jaipur is not just a city with famous monuments. It is a place full of memories, traditions, delicious food, and warm-hearted people. I hope that when you visit, you don’t just see Jaipur, you feel it.
