Fateh Sagar Lake’s old name and history behind its construction
Old name of Fateh Sagar Lake is Dewali ka Talab. Construction of Fatehsagar Lake located in Udaipur was done by Maharana Jai Singh in 1688. Later, the lake was renovated in 1888 by Maharaj Fateh Singh.
In the year 1889, Duke of Connaught visited Udaipur and constructed a Connaught dam near Dewali village, whose foundation was also laid by him. Based on the village name, lake was earlier named as Dewali Talab.
Presently, this lake is known as Fateh Sagar Lake.
It is the only lake in Rajasthan where boats are run using solar energy.

Moti Mangri
A memorial of Maharana Pratap has also been developed on the Moti Magri hill situated on the banks of a lake.
Saheliyon ki Bari
On this bank is situated the beautiful garden of Saheliyon ki Bari, which was built by Maharana Sangram Singh II. This place is known for mesmerising fountains.
