In a resounding testament to India’s deepening commitment to holistic health and wellness, Yoga Sangam 2025, the flagship initiative for the International Day of Yoga (IDY), has surpassed a significant milestone — with over 30,000 organisations registering to host Yoga events across the country.
As with previous years, the main event of IDY 2025 will follow a decentralized model, encouraging mass participation at the grassroots level. A new feature this year is the real-time online tracking of registered events, enabled through a dedicated facility on the Ministry of Ayush’s Yoga Portal. Organisations can easily register their IDY events and become part of the national celebration.
This overwhelming response reflects the rising status of Yoga in India—not just as a wellness practice, but as a national movement for mindful living, social unity, and sustainable health. From schools, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and corporates to NGOs, educational institutions, and government bodies, entities from every sector are coming together to organise events on 21st June 2025.
As the nation prepares to celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga, this year’s theme — “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” — continues to inspire a shared journey across regions, languages, and lifestyles. From the Himalayan valleys of Ladakh to the shores of Kerala, from office lawns and school grounds to railway stations and temple courtyards, India is moving as one — in breath, in body, and in spirit.
Academic and Institutional Leadership
Prestigious institutions such as IITs, IIMs, and Central Universities are actively participating in Yoga Sangam 2025. Beyond hosting mass yoga demonstrations, they are promoting Yoga as a tool for mental clarity, emotional resilience, and leadership development, embedding the practice into their campus culture.
