Gayatri Jayanti is observed as the birth anniversary of Goddess Gayatri who is also considered as the Goddess of Veda and hence is known as Veda Mata.
It is believed that Goddess Gayatri is manifestation of all phenomenal attributes of Brahman and is worshipped as the Goddess of Hindu Trimurti.
She is considered as the mother of all Gods and embodiment of three Devi called as Goddess Saraswati, Parvati and Lakshami.

In modern India, Gayatri Jayanti day during Shravana Purnima is celebrated as Sanskrit Diwas, a day to mark the importance of Sanskrit language.
Various activities, seminars and workshops are organised on the day of Sanskrit Diwas to promote the Vedic language. In current time, the usage of Sanskrit has been limited to only Puja-Patha and academic activities.
Gayatri Devi incarnation of three Hindu deities
People believe the Goddess Gayatri has similar power to the trinity of gods – Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shiva. Also, she is the incarnation of three Hindu deities – Goddess Parvati, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati.
Devotees believe that Goddess appears in the form of knowledge during Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. So, the birth anniversary of her falls on Shravan Purnima. Whoever worships Mother Gayatri may get bestowed with positivity, wisdom and knowledge.
