From vibrant kites dotting the skies of Gujarat to bonfires lit in northern states and elaborate harvest feasts in the south, the celebrations honoured farmers, nature and new beginnings. Families prepared seasonal sweets such as til-gud laddoos and pongal dishes, symbolising prosperity and harmony.

Political leaders and public figures extended festive greetings, highlighting the spirit of unity and goodwill associated with the occasion. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis urged people to exchange “sweet words along with sweets,” reinforcing the festival’s message of harmony. Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared a message noting how different regions celebrate the harvest in their own unique ways—through fire, sky and food—bringing people together. Former India captain Anil Kumble, actor Pawan Kalyan and several other celebrities also joined in wishing people across the country.
