Green crackers: Know what are they and how they check pollution

0

As many states in India have issued the guideline on using green crackers this Diwali, there are questions being raised that what is the difference between green crackers and other crackers. The EBNW Story here explains the difference…

As per the the CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR NEERI), green crackers as fireworks/ firecrackers are made with a reduced shell size, without use of ash, low usage of raw materials and/or additives such as dust suppressants to reduce emissions with specific reference to particulate matter (PM)

However experts say that both green crackers and traditional crackers cause pollution and people should refrain from using either. However, the only difference is that green crackers cause 30 per cent less air pollution as compared to traditional ones.

“They reduce emissions substantially and absorb dust and don’t contain hazardous elements like barium nitrate. Toxic metals in traditional crackers are replaced with less hazardous compounds.”

Who will be the next PM of Britain? Indian-origin Rishi Sunak leads the race…

0

Who will be the next PM of Britain; This has become a million dollar question as Liz Truss has finally resigned as prime minister. However  she would remain in office until the next party leader is elected.

Now the question arises, who will become the new leader after Liz? In media reports, Rishi Sunak of Indian origin is being told as the most capable contender for this post. On Wednesday, several leaders reminded him of Sunak’s statement in August. Then Rishi had said – Liz is making an election promise of tax cuts, it will destroy the economy. Rishi’s words proved to be true.

On Wednesday itself, ‘The Guardian’ had said in a report – the thinking of the people of Britain and many MPs of the Conservative Party is that Sunak was to be made prime minister in September. Liz got the wrong pick.

Now the question is, will Rishi Sunak join this race again? The main reason for this is that there was turmoil in the politics of the party and the country since 15 days and Sunak was calm.

Former minister Mordent can also join the race. Anyway, Sunak got the most votes in the voting done by the MPs before Liz was elected.

But, when two candidates, Liz and Sunak, were left, the members of the Conservative Party took the decision. Liz won it. Sunak was already warning that the election promises Liz was making would destroy the UK economy.

A question that is constantly being asked in the British media is why Sunak is silent despite this political turmoil? In 15 days neither he came in front of the media nor did he issue any written statement. Why this silence is there, only Sunak can tell.

Rishi Sunak, who lost in the voting of the members of the Conservative Party in the election for the post of PM, is currently adopting the policy of wait and watch. Sunak has refused to attend the annual meeting of the Conservative Party to be held in October. He has shied away from public statements. The last tweet was on 8 September.

It is believed that Sunak is engaged in a strategy with the supporters. Because, Sunak has more MPs’ support than Truss. In the final voting of MPs, Sunak got 137 votes of Conservative Party while Truss got 113 votes of MPs.

Do you know that the newly elected Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge lost his mother when he was five year old?

It was the August month of the year 1947 when Nizams ruled once.

In Varavatti village of Mysore State (now Karnataka), Hindu Muslims riots were reported when India was divided and Pakistan was created, The Nizam’s army attacked Varvatti village. Along with this, there also came looters who set the whole village on fire. It was here in a house that a 5-year-old child saw his mother burning alive.

The father saved him and took him away from the village and stayed in the forest for 3 months.. Instead of putting the child to work, he educated him.

The child named Mallikarjuna grew up to become a lawyer first, then union leader, MLA, minister in his state Karnataka, MP, minister in the central government and now the national president of Congress. Yes, this is the story of Mallikarjun Kharge.

Rajasthan: Cowdung made diyas to illuminate houses this Diwali

0

This Diwali shall be different as the lamps which were used to illuminate houses will be made of cowdung.

The process of making cowdung diyas is in full swing at the Hingonia Cow Rehabilitation Center in Jaipur. About two thousand lamps are being made every day.

In the organic farm of Hingonia Cow Rehabilitation Center in Jaipur, devotees of Hare Krishna Movement have taken an innovative initiative to make lamps from cow dung. Due to their eco-friendly nature, there is huge demand coming in from other cities of the state as well as from other states.

Dried cow dung is first collected to make the lamp. After that, 50 grams of wood powder and 50 grams of ‘gum guar ‘are mixed in about one kg of cow dung, after which it is kneaded by hand. The cow dung is then given a beautiful shape of a lamp. Five to six diyas get ready in a minute. They are dried in the sun for two days. The special thing is that after use, the remains of these lamps can be used as manure.

President of Hingonia Gaushala Raghupati Das said that according to the scriptures, cow dung is used in religious works. That’s why we aim to make 25000 diyas so that people know the importance of cow dung. Along with this, fragrant incense and eco-friendly gaukasht is also being made to be used in Havan and Yagya, he added.
