Chartered Accountants Day 2024: Quotes and Why it is celebrated?

0

Every year on July 1st, we observe National Chartered Accountants (CA) Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the foundation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). This year, we mark the 76th anniversary of the ICAI’s establishment, commemorating its pivotal role in shaping the profession of Chartered Accountancy in India.

What is the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)?

The ICAI is a statutory body formed by an Act of Parliament, the Chartered Accountants Act of 1949, tasked with regulating the profession of Chartered Accountancy in India. Administered by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the ICAI serves as the country’s sole licensing and regulatory body for financial audits and the accounting profession. The guidelines released by ICAI must be implemented by the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) and all other accounting and finance organizations in India.

Why Is July 1 Celebrated As CA Day?

The tradition of celebrating CA Day on July 1 dates back to the foundation of ICAI. Before India’s independence, the British Government regulated accounts under the Companies Act and later introduced a diploma program in accounting for auditors. By 1930, the Government of India maintained a Register of Accountants, listing those qualified to work as auditors across the country.

However, the profession lacked effective norms and regulations, prompting the establishment of an expert committee in 1948. This committee recommended the creation of an autonomous accounting body to oversee the profession, leading to the enactment of the Chartered Accountants Act in 1949. Thus, ICAI was born, and July 1 was designated as Chartered Accountants Day to honor this milestone.

If you are travelling to Leh-Ladakh, make sure to visit Kargil War Memorial to extend rich tributes to brave warriors who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation.
The Kargil War Memorial is located on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway about 5 km from the city centre across the Tiger Hill, Kargil.

History of Kargil War
The Kargil War, a conflict that erupted between Pakistan and India from May to July 1999, took place in the Kargil sector of the disputed Kashmir region, a contentious area frequently marred by border skirmishes. This particular clash, however, was the largest and deadliest of them all. The conflict commenced in early May when the Indian military discovered that Pakistani fighters had infiltrated the Indian-administered territory. In response, India mobilized its Army and Air Force to repel the intruders, who included regulars from the Pakistani army.

The Kargil War Memorial, located in Dras, Jammu and Kashmir, honors the soldiers who fought during the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan. The memorial features inscriptions, a Wall of Names, and a gallery displaying artifacts and photographs. It serves as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Indian armed forces.

The fierce battles unfolded in the harsh terrain at an altitude of 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) above sea level which India won.

The memorial stands as a testament to the resilience and patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces. Visitors to the Shyam Valley are often moved by the sight of the memorial, which features a Wall of Heroes, inscribed with the names of the fallen soldiers, and the iconic Tololing Hill in the background. This sacred ground not only honors those who laid down their lives but also serves as a powerful reminder of the cost of conflict and the enduring spirit of heroism.

While travelling to valleys, there are Apricot farm where Apricot Blossom Festival is organized by the Ladakh Tourism Department. It is aimed at popularizing this local tradition by inviting outsiders to partake in the celebrations with music, shopping, games and dances. The festival will be held in Leh and Ladakh from April 6, 2024 to April 18, 2024 this year.

Aryan Valley traditionally known as Dan Hanu region. Inhabited by the Brokpa community, who are believed to be the descendants of Alexander the Great’s soldiers, the valley is renowned for its unique cultural traditions and vibrant festivals. The picturesque landscape of the Aryan Valley, with its lush green fields, apricot orchards, and snow-capped peaks, offers a serene escape from the more tumultuous history of the region.
The community here has preserved its ancient customs and way of life, making the Aryan Valley a fascinating destination for those interested in the cultural and historical tapestry of the region.

Moon’ land also known as Lamayuru. It’s a small village in Ladakh, but an ideal place to take a break from the journey from Kargil to Leh. Home of one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh, legends believe that this place was once a lake that dried up. Remains on top of the Leh tourism charts, this tiny village has more to offer than it meets your eyes.

Lamayuru is popular for its ‘lunar’ landscape and monastery. Interestingly, this quaint little village is promoted as ‘moonscape’ for tourists; reason being its incredible yet odd geographical formations.
The views across the road will make you feel as if you are travelling in some heaven kind place with lush green surroundings covering the surreal waters flowing in the valley.

Bahadurgarh City: An Ultimate Destination for Real Estate Investments

0

The real estate industry in Delhi NCR has witnessed major change in the past few years. While the capital city continues to boom in economic and infrastructural areas, the emergence of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in its vicinity is soaring as a pathbreaker, especially in the real estate market. With rapid urbanization, better infrastructural development, enhanced economic opportunities, and higher quality of life, these smaller cities are not only catching the eyes of homebuyers but also exciting developers who are eager to seize the opportunities in this potential real estate market. The development of the “Golden Ring“, i.e., a connected network encircling Delhi-NCR, further led to the expansion of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities such as Bahadurgarh, Sonipat, Alwar, Meerut, and Manesar. These smaller cities provide exclusive investment opportunities, with special focus on enhancing the road connectivity and being equipped with developed amenities.

According to the CBRE report, Tier-2 & Tier-3 cities of India experienced a remarkable increase in investment, with capital flows more than doubling in 2023. Developers are drawn to these cities for land acquisition due to the robust increase in demand for real estate projects across the country. Moreover, the capital flows hit a record of $1.3 billion, up from $600 million in 2022.

Enhanced Connectivity-

The new Delhi Metro corridor approved by the Union Minister, from Inderlok to Indraprastha, will enhance connectivity with Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. According to real estate experts, this improved connectivity will stimulate investment in both commercial and residential projects in these areas. Property values are expected to rise significantly near this metro corridor. Bahadurgarh, well-connected to NH-10 and Jhajjar Road, is poised to become the next preferred destination for real estate investment. It is also linked via the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway. Furthermore, Bahadurgarh and surrounding cities are in close proximity to Delhi. The Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak highway, KMP Expressway, and UER2 connect the region to all major cities and districts in Haryana and Delhi-NCR. The area also enjoys excellent railway connectivity, with Bahadurgarh serving as an important railway station.

Social Infrastructure-

Bahadurgarh city and surrounding tier 2 & 3 cities boast an impressive social infrastructure, catering to the needs of both buyers and investors alike. Notably, the region hosts Asia’s biggest footwear & Industrial park and is home to some renowned companies such as Relaxo, BNG Fashion, Yokohama, and Aqualite. Balaji Action Cancer Hospital, the upcoming Minerva Mall, Maharaja Agarsen Medical University, etc situated close to the city enhance the appeal of the area. Furthermore, some of the renowned developers, such as Royal Green Realty, TATA, Omaxe, Essel Realty, HL city, and few others have ready-to-move and upcoming luxurious & premium townships with product varies from villas, plots, and first-time SCO spaces. With UER in place the travel time to the IGI airport has been reduced to half an hour from these townships. Moreover, the city is also witnessing a population surge, particularly among millennials and young professionals from Delhi, drawn by its proximity to offices, excellent connectivity and social infrastructure.

Talking about the real estate growth in Bahadurgarh City, Yashank Wason, Managing Director, Royal Green Realty, said, “Bahadurgarh city considered as a premier destination offers exceptional residential developments, unparalleled location and a wide array of amenities. The region has excellent connectivity to rail anf road networks with Bahadurgarh as an important railway station. Furthermore, Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak Highway and KMP Expresway connects to all the important cities of Delhi-NCR. At our township, we offer expandable villas, plots, and first-time in Bahadurgarh SCO spaces equipped with top-notch amenities such as smart security & monitoring, a smart outdoor landscape, state0of-the-art club house equipped with all modern amenities lie swimming pool, a kid’s play area, restaurant, and much more that will enhance the standard of living of our residents.

New Opportunities Unveiled:

With improved connectivity and rising property values, Bahadurgarh and other Tier 2 & 3 cities are evolving into hotspots for developers. This opens up exciting new opportunities for commercial development, marked by the emergence of Shop-Cum-Office (SCO) spaces. This innovative concept combines retail and office spaces within a single unit, transforming the commercial real estate landscape. This diversification in the commercial real estate sector provides businesses with a wide range of options tailored to meet the industry’s needs. With a strategic location, these spaces hold immense appeal for SMEs, further cutting costs and streamlining operations in Tier 2 cities.

On this, Mr. Wason, further adds, “Our first-time Shop-Cum-Office (SCO) spaces in Bahadurgarh will offer cost-effective solutions and increased convenience for businesses. The SCO spaces are increasingly becoming the retail future as they provide a unique blend of retail and office space which caters to the changing needs of the real estate sector. Moreover, these spaces in Tier-2 cities, such as Bahadurgarh, are attractive for SMEs due to their strategic location, offering both retail and office space in one building and reducing costs. Companies can benefit from shared infrastructure and facilities, such as common areas and parking spaces, among others. These spaces are poised to make a positive impact on the local economy, generating numerous job opportunities. Moreover, their proximity to the airport and other prominent landmarks makes them a convenient and accessible destination for businesses and customers.

Future Outlook:

The Indian economy is set to undergo rapid urbanization of approximately 50% by 2050, which will encourage more developers to expand their footprints in these markets. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s recent announcement during the interim budget 2024 underscores the government’s steadfast commitment to infrastructure upgrades & building connectivity nationwide. This significant move will benefit the real estate industry, not just in major cities but also in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across the country.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli Retire from T20Is: They Came Back, They Conquered, They Left

0

India Clinches the T20 World Cup 2024

When the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel decided to reintegrate Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli into the T20I squad in January, the move was met with skepticism. Many viewed it as a regression, especially after a year filled with experimental strategies. Fast forward to June, and it’s clear that this decision was nothing short of genius. The two giants of white-ball cricket ended their T20I careers on an extraordinary high, leading India to a T20 World Cup victory in Barbados on Saturday, June 29.

A Triumphant Farewell

The victory marked a fitting farewell for two of the most celebrated players in T20I cricket. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who announced their retirement from the shortest format, inspired India to their first ICC title in 11 years. Rohit, as captain, led with unwavering determination throughout the campaign held in the USA and the West Indies, while Virat Kohli, the former captain, delivered match-winning performances when they mattered most.

The Emotional Climax

The climax of this historic journey was filled with emotion. As the final ball was bowled at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, Rohit Sharma fell flat on the outfield, absorbing the magnitude of the moment. It was a moment of redemption for Rohit, who had faced heartbreak in November 2023. The India captain, once an emotional wreck, now stood triumphant, tears of joy streaming down his face as he embraced his long-time comrade, Virat Kohli.

Kohli, too, had his share of triumph. Just a few months earlier, his T20I career seemed uncertain. Critics questioned his relevance in the format, but his performance in the IPL 2024, where he won the Orange Cap, silenced the doubters. In Barbados, Kohli’s stellar display was the final act of a storied T20I career, ensuring his legacy as a national hero.

The Road to Redemption

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have an illustrious history in T20 cricket. Rohit was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup squad and won the Champions Trophy in 2013. Kohli, on the other hand, was part of the 2011 ODI World Cup-winning team and the 2013 Champions Trophy-winning side. Despite their individual successes, recent years had brought collective heartbreaks. The T20 World Cup victory in Barbados served as the perfect antidote.

The Controversial Recall

Their return to the T20I squad was not without controversy. After being sidelined for 13 months, Rohit and Kohli were brought back for a series against Afghanistan in January. Critics argued that India had moved past the veteran duo, favoring younger talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. However, the experience and resilience of Rohit and Kohli proved invaluable in the challenging conditions of the USA and the West Indies.

The Dynamic Duo’s Final Act

Rohit Sharma’s aggressive approach at the top of the order and Virat Kohli’s adaptability were on full display throughout the tournament. Rohit amassed 257 runs at a staggering strike rate of 156, silencing his critics with a 41-ball 92 against Australia and a match-winning 57 in the semi-final against England. Kohli, often criticized for his anchor role in T20s, transformed his game, culminating in a vital 76 off 57 balls in the final, guiding India to a defendable total.

A Masterstroke by the Selection Committee

Ajit Agarkar and his selection panel foresaw the challenges in the Caribbean and the USA, making the bold decision to bring back the experienced duo. What seemed like a backward step in January turned out to be a masterstroke, leading to an unforgettable World Cup victory.

Summing Up

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s retirement from T20Is marks the end of an era. Their contributions to Indian cricket are unparalleled, and their final act of heroism in the T20 World Cup 2024 will be remembered for generations. They came back, they conquered, and they left, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and inspiration.
