A six-year-old child was successfully rescued from under the rubble in Gaziantep by a team from India’s National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), which is conducting relief and rescue efforts in Turkey during aftershocks.
According to reports, three NDRF rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene. The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, shared a tweet where he expressed pride for the NDRF team in the rescue operation.
The devastating event of the earthquake unfolded in Turkey and Syria, where more than 19,300 people were killed. Thus, the Indian government launched a rescue mission called “Operation Dost” to provide help to the countries.
Therefore, the NDRF team continuously rescues and extricates people trapped in the rubble. The team uses tools such as chips and stone cutters to slit the concrete slab and rescue people. Thus, they provide the victims with first aid for their injuries, and then the injured victims are shifted to medical care.
For “operation, Dost,” about seven four-wheeled vehicles and trucks were sent. An Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 heavy lift aircraft assisted the four canines and three teams.
