Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have filed a defamation of Rs 50 crore against entertainer Sherlyn Chopra after warning her of legal consequences for her baseless accusations.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra have filed a Rs 50 crore defamation case against entertainer Sherlyn Chopra for her false and baseless accusations against them that ruined their reputation. They seek an apology from her as well.
Earlier, their lawyers warned Chopra of legal consequences of her actions, following which, she filed a case at the Juhu Police Station, levelling allegations of mental and sexual harassment against the couple.
“The entire allegations made by Sherlyn Chopra against Raj Kundra and Ms Shilpa Shetty Kundra are concocted, false, fake, frivolous, baseless, without any evidence, even to Sherlyn Chopra’s knowledge and have been made with an ulterior motive to defame and extort money,” the notice stated.
The legal notice sent on Tuesday through their advocate Prashant Patil has asked for an unconditional public apology from Chopra in leading newspapers and on digital media platforms within seven days, failing to which can lead to criminal and civil proceedings against her.
“It is nothing but an audacious attempt by Ms Sherlyn to drag Ms Shilpa Shetty’s name to create unwanted controversy and gain media attention. The allegations are nothing but an afterthought, wherein Ms Sherlyn Chopra, is arraigned as an Accused, in C.R. No. 02/2020, Nodal Cyber Police Station,” the notice added further.
It also mentioned that Shetty is in no way connected nor involved in looking after day-to-day affairs of the JL stream app that is promoted by Kundra.
Last month, Raj Kundra was granted bail by the Mumbai court after being caught in a pornographic content case and spending two months in jail. The case also dragged Sherlyn Chopra for being involved in pornography content, to which she accused Kundra for misleading her as her mentor.
