Rajasthan is all set to receive the long-awaited gift of a bullet train, as preparations are underway to run a high-speed train between Ahmedabad and Delhi via Jaipur. The route survey has been completed, and the detailed survey report has already been submitted to the central government.

Railway experts believe that the introduction of the bullet train will significantly boost tourism and business in the region. Although the 886-kilometre route from Ahmedabad to Delhi via Jaipur had been proposed earlier, the recent completion of the survey and submission of its report indicates that groundwork may begin soon.

Seven Bullet Train Stations in Rajasthan

According to the survey report, a total of 13 stations are proposed along the route. Of these, seven will be located in Rajasthan. These include:

  • Kherwada (Dungarpur)
  • Udaipur
  • Bhilwara
  • Chittorgarh
  • Ajmer
  • Jaipur
  • Behror (Alwar)

The remaining stations include Rewari and Manesar in Haryana, three in Gujarat, and one in Delhi — Dwarka Sector-1.

Ultra-High Speed Connectivity

The bullet train is expected to run at a speed of 320 to 350 km per hour, reducing travel time between Ahmedabad and Delhi to just four hours. The project aims for completion by the year 2031. The route survey involved satellite mapping followed by a remote sensing survey using LiDAR technology, which was completed within a year.

While officials of the High-Speed Rail Corporation have remained tight-lipped about further developments, the completion of the survey has sparked fresh hope that Rajasthan will soon join the select list of states with bullet train connectivity.
