Draupadi Murmu hoisted the tricolour on the 74th Republic Day at Kartavya Path while singing the national anthem with a customary 21-gun salute
President Droupadi Murmu oversaw the festivities at Kartavya Path on Thursday as India celebrated its 74th Republic Day and raised the flag. Thus, the National Anthem was played after flag hosting, and a traditional 21-gun salute.
Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of Egypt, is the parade’s head guest. Whenever the Indian Constitution came into effect, the country was already free of colonial control. Thus, the president, the nation’s first citizen, and democratic leader raise the flag for this reason.
One of the first customs performed during the 74th Republic Day celebration was the 21-gun salute by the traditional 105-mm Indian Field Guns. Thus, it takes the place of the previous 25-pound gun as a nod to the expanding “Atmanirbharta” in defense. Additionally, four Mi-17 1V/V5 aircraft from the 105 Helicopter Unit will scatter flower petals on the spectators at Kartavya Path.
In the celebration, the Ceremonial Battery of the 871 Field Regiment fired the gun salute. Therefore, the Commander of the Ceremonial Battery was Lieutenant Colonel Vikas Kumar, SM.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the National War Memorial to mark the beginning of the 74th Republic Day celebrations by laying a wreath in honor of the dead soldiers. Following that, the procession is seen by the prime minister and other dignitaries at the saluting dais at Kartavya Path.
To ensure security, the Delhi Police has increased security precautions in anticipation of Republic Day festivities in and around the national capital with 6,000 security officers, a total of 24 assistance centers, anti-sabotage inspections, verification drives, and patrols.
In the 74th Republic Day celebration, one of the centerpieces was a total of 23 tableaux representing the nation’s rich cultural legacy, economic prosperity, and strong internal and foreign security. It showcased the rich heritage of India. As a result, 6 tableaus from various ministries and departments and 17 tableaus from states and union territories were created.
In addition, the Vande Bharatam group of dancers from throughout the country delivered many performances. Brave stories from Veer Gatha 2.0 participants, beautiful performances by school bands at the National War Memorial, the first-ever e-invitations, the largest-ever drone show, and a 3-D anamorphic projection are all part of the celebrations.
Plus, the Paramvir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, and Vir Chakra are also awarded by the President of India to valiant warriors, while the Padma Awards are granted to outstanding citizens.
