The application process for Farmfare Awards 2024, dedicated to honoring the country’s farmers, has officially begun. These awards will recognize exceptional contributions in various agricultural fields, including organic farming, water conservation, horticulture, agricultural startups, and innovation.
A Platform for Farmers:
Farmfare Awards convener, Vishal Parashar, shared that the primary objective of the awards is to provide a platform where farmers are recognized and celebrated for their contributions. This year, four major awards will be presented: Indian Farmer of the Year, Woman Farmer of the Year, Agripreneur of the Year, and Innovation of the Year. The winners will be honored with modern agricultural equipment.
Transparent Selection Process:
The selection process for the awards will be entirely transparent. Applications will be evaluated by an 11-member jury panel, which will include vice-chancellors of agricultural universities, Padma Shri-awarded farmers, senior agricultural journalists, and subject matter experts.
Turning Farmers into Celebrities:
Sunil Sushila Sharma, founder of the Farmfare Awards and host of the popular show “Ram Ram Sa,” stated that the goal of the awards is to turn farmers into celebrities. The award show will be organized in the style of the Filmfare Awards, offering farmers a special experience that honors their work.
Attracting Youth to Agriculture:
This award show also aims to inspire the youth to pursue agriculture. When young people see successful farmers being recognized, they may be motivated to consider farming as a career.
