World’s oldest whiskey was auctioned at a whopping $137,000 dollars which when calculated in Indian currency comes to be more than one crore rupee.
The whiskey, approximately 250 years old, was placed on auction for six times more than its original price, even at a time where a single bottle of Scotch can sell for nearly $2 million dollars.
As per the Daily Mail report, the Old Ingledew Whiskey was bottled in 1860, but the liquid inside it is believed to be a century older than that.
While the Ingledew whiskey was bottled in the 1860s, however, the liquid inside it is believed to be quite older than that which was created by the famous financier of that time, JP Morgan.
The bottle’s label says, ‘This Bourbon was probably made before 1865, which was in the cellar of JP Morgan. The bottle was later received from his estate after Morgan’s demise.
