The Met Gala, formally known as Costume Institute Gala or the Costume Institute Benefit and also known as the Met Ball ,which is an annual fundraising Gala for the benefit of of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, starts on September 13 at 5.30 pm.
Each year, the festival starts with a custom institute’s annual fashion exhibit and a theme is assigned to celebrate the event.
Met Gala 2021 History
The Met Gala was established back in 1948 and is now considered as the most prominent and exclusive social event. The event which generally is organised every year on the first Monday of May is taking place on September this year due to COVID-19 circumstances.
This year, the event will begin on 13th September at 5:30 p.m ET and will follow the COVID safety protocols. They will have a red carpet event too which was cancelled last year in 2020 amid covid-19 pandemic.

This year, the Met Ball is following the theme American: The Lexicon of Fashion. This year the event will be hosted by Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman, and Naomi Osaka and t he honorary co-chairs for the gala will be Anna Wintour, Head of Instagram Adam Mossari, and designer Tom Ford, who will probably be dressing several attending celebrities.

This year too, we will get to see Indian representation in the event, Philanthropist and business tycoon Sudha Reddy, widely known for her charitable nature, will be seen as a guest this year. As the event never releases the guest list prior to the event but we will surely witness big and influential celebrities this night.
