PM Modi launches a new campaign to provide a unique digital health ID to every citizen, and strengthen health facilities more.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission that will provide every citizen with a unique digital health ID to save all of their health records, which will be digitally protected. This campaign is a new phase in strengthening the health facilities, create digital healthcare professionals, and facilities registry.
“Today we are launching a mission that has the potential of bringing a revolutionary change in India’s healthcare facilities.” PM said about the digital initiative.
The initiative will help individuals to discover hospitals, laboratories, and pharmacies across the country, which will increase the ease of living, and simplify the procedures in hospitals.
“At present, the use of technology in hospitals is currently limited to only one hospital or to a single group.” Modi stated. “The entire ecosystem related to treatment and healthcare policy-making is going to become more effective with this modern platform.”
The campaign is designed to benefit the poor and middle class, specifically when it comes to finding the right doctor and a hospital. Through this, it will be easy for the patient to find a doctor that will understand their language and who is specialised more in that particular disease for the best treatment.
It will also create a seamless online platform that will help access treatment records, and enable faster and effective treatment.
“Doctors don’t advertise themselves in the newspapers. Only after someone visits a doctor, we hear that the doctor is good. However, with tis initiative, information on doctors will reach everyone; it will tell you about doctors who are knowledgeable about a speciality; it will tell you who to reach out to; who is the nearest, where you can reach at the earliest,” said PM Modi.
Beside doctors, labs and drug stores will also be easily identified for better tests.
