On Sunday, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s COVID-19 National Task Group released updated clinical guidelines.
Data from the Union Health Ministry, which was updated on Sunday, show that after 129 days, India saw a surge of over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in a single day. Thus, the total number of active cases is 5,915.
In the past 24 hours, 1,071 new cases overall throughout the country were recorded, raising the death toll to 5,30,802 with three additional fatalities—one each in Rajasthan and Maharashtra—and one resolved in Kerala, increasing the total to 5,30,802.
According to ministry statistics that were updated at 8 a.m., the number of infections stands at 4.46 crore.
With a COVID-19 recovery rate of 98.8% on a national level, active cases currently make up 0.01 percent of all cases.
The figures show that there are now 4,41,58,703 individuals who have recovered from the illness, with a 1.19 percent case fatality rate. Thus, the nation has received 220.65 crore doses of the COVID vaccine as part of the countrywide coronavirus immunization push, according to the ministry’s website.
