Hanuman Jayanti 2024 – Significance, History and many more…

Hanuman Jayanti is observed on the Purnima Tithi or the full moon day of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month, which usually falls in March and April as per the English calendar. This year, the Purnima Tithi will fall on April 23 (Tuesday).

Hanuman Jayanti commemorates the birth of Lord Hanuman, revered as the son of Anjana and Kesari in Hindu mythology. He is also known by various names like Pawan Putra and Bajrangbali. According to Hindu tradition, Hanuman was born on a Tuesday during Chaitra Purnima, just after sunrise.

On Hanuman Jayanti, it is believed that worshiping Hanuman Ji can alleviate all troubles and fulfill desires. Offering vermilion to Bajrangbali on this day is said to ensure success in endeavors and attainment of wealth. Reciting Hanuman Chalisa and Bajrang Baan holds special significance, bringing happiness to devotees and pleasing Hanuman Ji.

In Hinduism, Hanuman Ji is revered as Chiranjeevi, meaning immortal. Worshiping him is believed to yield quick results, especially in the present age of Kalyug. Hanuman Ji is considered a protector, shielding devotees from pain and adversity when remembered sincerely during crises. Worshipping Hanuman Ji is also thought to ward off the adverse effects of Shani Dev (Saturn), as Shani Dev is said to not trouble devotees of Bajrangbali.

Offering peepal leaves, gram flour laddoos, and red flowers to Hanuman Ji on Hanuman Jayanti is believed to bring happiness. It is said that wherever Lord Ram is worshiped, Hanuman Ji’s presence is felt. Reciting Ramcharit Manas on Hanuman Jayanti is considered auspicious, bringing immense happiness and prosperity.
