As the nation remembers freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad on his martyrdom day, The EBNW Story features the pictures of his birthplace in Bhabhra town situated in Alirajpur district in Madhya Pradesh.
It’s a small village kind place, serene and silent and still echoing with stories of Azad. Although there are a few signboards taking you to the birthplace of Azad, however, people walking around act like guide and take you to the place which once used to be Azad’s residence.
Once you open the gate of his residence, you feel the divine presence of the freedom fighter who might have roamed the corridors like any other son roaming freely in his parent’s house. Next, you will see tall tree and sanitary staff standing close says that its decades old. Then you enter a hall which has pictures and stories of Azad exhibited around. Also there is a notice issued by British Police announcing a prize of Rs 5000 on him.
Here comes the photo feature:
Tributes Pour in for Freedom Fighter
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tributes to freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad, remembering his supreme sacrifice in India’s struggle for Independence. In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “On the martyrdom day of Chandrashekhar Azad, the valiant son of Mother India, my respectful homage to him. He sacrificed everything to free Mother India from the shackles of slavery, for which he will be remembered forever.”

Azad was surrounded by enemies in Alfred Park (now Azad Park) in Allahabad on February 27, 1931, he chose to shoot himself with his last bullet rather than be captured, living up to his name “Azad” (Free) till his last breath. His martyrdom reminds us that freedom was not achieved in a day but is the result of countless sacrifices
