Hong Kong is gearing up to transform its bustling Central district into a magical winter wonderland as the city unveils a spectacular lineup of seasonal celebrations, reinforcing its status as Asia’s premier Christmas capital. With convenient direct flights from major Indian cities, the destination invites Indian travellers to enjoy an unforgettable festive escape just a few hours from home.
The centrepiece of the festivities, the annual Hong Kong WinterFest (14 November 2025 – 4 January 2026), will spread holiday cheer across the city—making Hong Kong the perfect year-end getaway for Indian families, couples, and groups seeking a vibrant Christmas and New Year celebration.
Transforming Central into a Winter Wonderland
(14 November 2025 – 4 January 2026)
This edition’s highlight, “Winter Wonderland in Central,” will bring the magic of Christmas to life with a dazzling series of events. For the first time, iconic Central landmarks will become a vast illuminated canvas for the immersive “Light Show in Central,” while a towering 20-metre outdoor Christmas tree will preside over a lively Christmas Town.
Chater Road will shimmer as a Starlight Boulevard, seamlessly linking the festivities to the largest-ever installation at LANDMARK ATRIUM: “Noëlia at LANDMARK”—a holiday tradition eagerly awaited by Hong Kong residents each year.
HKTB Chairman Dr. Peter Lam noted,
“This year’s Hong Kong WinterFest is being presented in a new format and features the most extensive lineup to date. Our aim is to create a strong festive atmosphere citywide and reinforce Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s top winter travel destination. We are delighted to collaborate with Hongkong Land to transform Central into a Winter Wonderland. This initiative not only enhances the holiday experience for locals and visitors but also stimulates the seasonal economy.”
Statue Square Garden Becomes a Christmas Town
(14 November 2025 – 4 January 2026)
From 14 November, Statue Square Garden will come alive as a whimsical Christmas Town where visitors of all ages can bask in the enchantment of winter, as if stepping into a festive storybook.
The town will showcase colourful, toy-themed decorations—from spaceships and puppets to miniature trains. Throughout the season, visitors can enjoy live carol performances, surprise appearances by Santa Claus, and festive workshops.
A charming Christmas market with 12 chalets will open on 28 November, offering seasonal delicacies, gifts, and hands-on festive experiences. The centrepiece will be the dazzling 20-metre Christmas tree, wrapped in shimmering ribbons and glowing warmly each night.
Extending the holiday spirit, Chater Road will be transformed into a glittering Starlight Boulevard, with more than 30 trees adorned in festive lights. Pedestrian bridges will glow with vibrant displays, while a hanging Christmas tree installation at Chater House will serve as a striking visual highlight. Each evening at 5 pm, the lights will illuminate the boulevard, creating an unforgettable outdoor Christmas experience.
Visitors will then be guided beneath a golden canopy of lights to “Noëlia at LANDMARK” in LANDMARK ATRIUM—an enchanting 30-metre-wide display featuring an 11-metre lighthouse and Hong Kong’s largest interactive 12×12 metre Wishing Lake, offering endless photo opportunities.
Eight Iconic Buildings Unite for the First-Ever “Immersive Lights Show in Central”
(28 November 2025 – 4 January 2026)
Another marquee attraction of WinterFest 2025 is the debut of the Immersive Lights Show in Central. For the first time, eight iconic buildings surrounding Christmas Town will serve as a massive canvas for a multimedia spectacle.
Through 3D projection mapping, lighting effects, and festive music, lifelike visuals—ranging from reindeer and angels to snowmen and gift boxes—will dance across both historic facades and modern skyscrapers. These dynamic scenes will appear to leap playfully between the trees in Christmas Town, creating a dreamlike festive experience that captures the vibrancy of Hong Kong’s iconic skyline.
