The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying Shukla and three crewmates launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at noon IST. After six prior delays due to technical issues, the mission finally soared, with Shukla proudly declaring, “What a ride! The tricolor on my shoulder shows I carry my nation with me.

”His emotional parents, Asha and Shambhu Dayal Shukla, celebrated their son’s achievement with pride. The spacecraft is scheduled to dock with the ISS on June 26 at 4:30 PM IST.This mission, under a NASA-ISRO agreement, will also contribute to India’s upcoming Gaganyaan mission—the country’s first indigenous human spaceflight program, expected in 2027.
