India’s First Hyperloop Test Track Is Ready: Delhi to Jaipur in 30 Minutes

Spearheaded by IIT Madras and supported by the Ministry of Railways, the 422-meter-long test facility marks a crucial milestone in advancing hyperloop technology. Once fully implemented, this revolutionary mode of transport could cut travel time between Delhi and Jaipur, approximately 300 km, to less than 30 minutes.

The hyperloop test track has been developed with substantial support from industry leaders, including Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction, ArcelorMittal, and Hindalco Industries. These companies have played a key role in the design and construction of the test track, providing essential resources and expertise to bring this ambitious project to life.

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took to social media platform X to highlight this groundbreaking achievement, showcasing India’s commitment to pioneering high-speed transportation solutions. The hyperloop system, once operational, is expected to redefine urban mobility by significantly reducing travel time and increasing efficiency.

Future Prospects: Chennai to Bengaluru in 15 Minutes?

Encouraged by the success of the test track, plans are already in motion to develop a hyperloop corridor between Chennai and Bengaluru. If realized, this project could reduce the travel time for the 350 km journey to an astonishing 15 minutes, transforming intercity travel and boosting economic connectivity between the two metropolitan hubs.
