Sanjit Konda, a 22-year-old from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, moved to Australia to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at La Trobe University. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he decided to drop out of college to start his own tea business, “Dropout Chaiwala,” in Melbourne. Despite initial challenges and skepticism from his parents, Sanjit’s passion for tea and entrepreneurship drove him to make this bold move.

Sanjit’s idea for “Dropout Chaiwala” stemmed from his love for tea, and he envisioned creating a unique tea experience in Australia. With an angel investor’s support, he opened his first tea outlet, which initially offered a few varieties of tea. Within a short period, his tea business gained popularity among both Indians and Australians, and it grew rapidly. Within a year, his venture generated an impressive revenue of INR 5 crore, establishing him as a successful entrepreneur.

Sanjit’s story is not only about financial success but also about overcoming challenges and taking risks. He was able to secure an investment that helped him scale his business, and he now employs Indian students who work part-time to support themselves. His venture has expanded with multiple outlets, and he continues to innovate by introducing new tea blends like fusion green tea and a tea-based cappuccino.

Today, “Dropout Chaiwala” is a thriving business, and Sanjit has become an inspiration to many aspiring entrepreneurs. His journey demonstrates that sometimes, unconventional paths can lead to great success, provided one has the courage and determination to pursue their dreams.
