Ankit Kumar Awasthi, a notable luminary in the realm of online education, hails from the picturesque city of Alwar in the culturally rich state of Rajasthan. With an awe-inspiring annual income of Rs 5 crore, his dedication to the world of education is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Amidst the tumultuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, he exhibited his unwavering commitment by generously contributing Rs 1 crore in taxes, symbolizing his resolute devotion to the greater good.
Ankit’s recent triumph, securing the 235th rank in the fiercely competitive Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) examination, stands as a testament to his indomitable resolve. Yet, his vision stretches far beyond the digital landscape of education. Ankit harbours a profound ambition to make high-quality offline coaching accessible to the underprivileged children of Alwar and its neighbouring districts. His noble aim is to empower these young minds to ascend to prestigious positions, such as RAS officers, with a meagre fee of just 200 rupees.
Nestled in Patel Nagar, Alwar, alongside his father, Chhail Bihari Awasthi, Ankit’s lineage traces its origins to Sukheri, a quaint village situated approximately 90 kilometres from the bustling Alwar district headquarters. His academic journey is nothing short of exceptional. He achieved the remarkable feat of completing his 12th standard at the tender age of 14, followed by earning his B.Sc. degree at 17, culminating in an M.Sc. adorned with a coveted gold medal in organic chemistry at the youthful age of 19. His accolades continued to mount as he scaled the pinnacle of success, securing the 41st rank in the All India Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) at the mere age of 20, paving his path to pursue an M.Tech degree at the prestigious IIT Kanpur in 2010. From 2011 to 2018, he devoted his talents to Kota Bansal Classes, an educational institution, steadily ascending to the coveted position of the Head of the Department. In 2016, he achieved another remarkable milestone, securing the 525th rank in the RAS examination, a milestone that he has now surpassed with his remarkable 235th rank.
Over the past two years, he has been a dynamic force in the landscape of online education, commanding an annual package of approximately Rs 5 crore. His digital lectures have become a daily ritual for a staggering 10 lakh viewers, and he boasts a substantial social media following through his YouTube channel and Facebook account, captivating the hearts and minds of millions of eager learners.
Amidst the laurels and success, Ankit remains steadfast in his commitment to realizing a dream that transcends personal glory—the dream of closing the educational divide for underprivileged rural children. His visionary plan to offer offline coaching at a nominal fee of 200 rupees per registration, a fraction of the exorbitant costs typically borne by RAS aspirants, is a testament to his resolute determination to democratize quality education. To support this noble vision, Ankit has painstakingly assembled a dedicated team of 28 individuals, remunerating them from his own income. This tireless team is wholeheartedly engaged in various activities, including the meticulous creation of RAS study materials and the development of educational content in a lucid and accessible language.
His overarching vision transcends geographic boundaries, aspiring to reach deserving students across the length and breadth of the nation. With the invaluable support of accomplished educators and impassioned supporters, he steadfastly believes that the amalgamation of experience and unwavering self-confidence will play a pivotal role in actualizing his mission—an unyielding commitment to democratize quality education and make it accessible to all.
