Dal Bati Churma: A three in one treat in Rajasthan

Dal Bati Churma is a traditional dish of state Rajasthan. No trip of Rajasthan is complete without this three in one treat.

Bati is made with whole wheat flour fashioned into dumplings that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, dipped in ghee. Daal is prepared using tuvaar dal, chana, mung dal, moth dal, or urad dal. The meal is finished off with crushed bati doused in ghee and mixed with sugar or jaggery which is known as Churma.
It is so beautifully served with green chutney, Onion and Tomato. Laddu is also served with Thali which is cherry on the top.

What Idly Sambhar is to Tamil, Dal Bati Churma is to Rajasthan. Dal Bati was first made in desert kingdom of Mewar. It was quite delicious  and started getting popularity in whole Rajasthan , even some local dynasty started adopting this. After some time it somehow reached to Rani Jodha Bai.
