Jaipur: Krishna Janmashtami being celebrated amid fervour and vedic chants at Shri Krishna Balaram Temple

Shri Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated at Shri Krishna Balaram Temple in Jagatpura, Jaipur on Friday amid spiritual fervor and Vedic chants echoing the temple surroundings. 

A special ceremony of Harinam Sankirtana in the temple will continue throughout the day and around two lakh devotees will  visit the temple on the auspicious occasion to get darshan of God.

Colorful flowers and illuminating lights deck up temple

The temple complex has been decorated with flowers and beautiful lights especially being called from Kolkata, Bengaluru and other parts of the country. 

Keeping in mind the security in the temple, more than 100 security personnel are present in the temple, metal detectors and CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire temple premises for screening. Panjiri and fruits are distributed as free prasad to all the devotees who came to the temple.

Flowers, dresses, delicacies, Kewra and Gulab Jal called for Krishna

In Sri Sri Krishna Balaram temple, Krishna’s Phool Bungalow has been decked up with flowers, dress worth Rs 1.25 lakh has been designed in Vrindavan for Thakur ji, and 108 delicacies are offered to Thakur ji. Rose water and kewra from Kannauj has been called for the consecration of God. Laddu Gopal’s Jhula was installed at three places in the temple premises, so that all the devotees could participate in the Jhula service of the Lord.

Krishna Balram tableau decorated in temple

Temple President Amitasana Das ji said that a beautiful tableau of Shri Krishna Balram was decorated in the temple, 108 Bhog was offered to the Lord, Maha Abhishek was performed and flowers were showered and Maha Aarti was performed at 12 midnight. He further said that August 20, 2022 Nandotsav which is celebrated on the second day of Janmashtami is an important date. 

On this day the founder of Hare Krishna Movement (ISKCON) Acharya, Krishna Kripamurthy A.C. Bhaktivedanta is celebrating the 126th birth anniversary of Swami Prabhupada. 

Abhishekam and Harinam Sankirtana

On this occasion, Abhishekam and Harinam Sankirtana will be organised in the temple under Vyasa Puja from 5 pm onwards. All our efforts are for the benefit and upliftment of humanity, following the spiritual vision of Srila Prabhupada, he added.
