Father’s Day is celebrated across the globe on June 20 to acknowledge the dedication and contribution of fathers to their children’s lives.

Father is the pillar of strength and the backbone of the family. He doesn’t believe in sharing the efforts he puts in to protect his family and serves it with unconditional love and support.

History

The first Father’s Day was observed on July 5, 1908, in West Virginia for the fathers who had lost their lives in a mining accident in Monongah, USA.

Later, the Father’s Day idea was introduced by Sonora Smart Dodd, who was the daughter of American Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart. However, this day varies from country to country. However, what gained popularity was when President Richard Nixon signed a declaration to celebrate every third Sunday of June as Father’s Day.
